Destiny Church exists to bring people to Jesus and membership of his family, developing them to maturity in Christ, and equipping them for their ministry in the Church and mission in the world, in order to magnify God’s name.

Our Foundational Pillars

The Five Pillars of Destiny Church are clearly seen in two fundamental scriptures that are intrinsic to its mission, vision and culture. The two Scriptures are known historically as the Great Commandment and the Great Commission and are the pillars upon which we partner with Jesus in building Destiny Church. From these purposes flow all the ministries and activities of Destiny Church.

The Great Commandment

Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.

At Destiny Church we love God passionately and enjoy worshipping God enthusiastically. God wants to be at the very centre of our lives and we have found that living full devoted to Jesus is the only way to find life that satisfies and has meaning.

Mission

It is our dream to share the life transforming message of Jesus with every man, woman and child in Teesside. So we make it our aim to equip all who call Destiny their home to share the love and kindness of Jesus both locally and globally.

Ministry

Every believer is called to minister. God has given you something unique and we want to help you figure out how to use that gift in an area of ministry based on your (Spritual gifts, Heart, Ambition, Personality and Experiroence) S.H.A.P.E.

Membership

God created us to need each other. Therefore, we can do more, be more and endure more when we’re walking together. Do join a Connect Group because it will help you build authentic relationship with people who will support and love you

Maturity

God’s plan for all of us is that we become like His son Jesus Christ in our character, convictions, conduct and conversation. Here at Destiny we will help you to develop new life changing habits that will enable you to reach your full potential in Christ.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

What We Believe

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross.
He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return someday to earth to reign as King of kings, and Lord of lords.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.
He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

The Bible

The Bible is God’s word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.

Salvation

Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our own sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty.
When we turn from our self-rule life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus’ life into their life by faith.

Human Beings

People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience towards God called ‘sin.’ This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.

Eternity

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
